Can you share how you are preparing for the exam in an effort to retain so much information?

Its not easy. I feel like I am taking that college course again that has so much info and I just wish the test was here so I could dump what I know into it and move on. I am reading every night, getting on line and reading everyones input and taking knowledge from them.

Hello Nicole,
I have been working on it slowly in the evenings after work. The presentations and the chapters do have a lot of information but I have done a basic outline and tried to break it up for the week. I have also been doing some example questions but it has not been my focus. I will focus on them once I have gone through all of the information. Have a great evening!

I am listening to the tutorial and taking notes. The printed materials seem to be the same information so am just scanning those for any differences. Haven't made it to the textbook yet! I figured I will look at that closer to the exam. I can say from previous experience, make sure you know the code of ethics very well!

Ok I am not the only one thinking this. I have been doing the presentations in the evening a little each nite. Then over the weekend spending all my idle time doing the readings. I believe it took me about 6 hours on the readings alone. I am hi-lighting and organizing outlines. Once I get the 50+ practice questions I go through them and answer them , then go over the areas in the book. Just today I did download a 185 page document that provides all the essentials plus a practice exam, indepth outlines etc. This is helping have you found this?
Bad enough my job is 60-70 hours a week hard to find all the time to spend elsewhere but it will be worth it do you think?
Also when we post a comment does that satisfy the requirement(my thoughts are it does but some confirm).

Richard,
Where did you download the practice exam from? Not to mention your reference to the 50 practice questions. I have clearly missed something somewhere! I have emailed Patricia Griffith several times for clarification on how to receive credit for the course. I get vague answers, but this is what a think I understand.... we have to go online and discuss 5 of the topics ... I am not sure if this conversation counts. Try working all week and every night coming home to helping with 2nd and 5th grade homework then doing this!

Gabriella:

The practice exam was included in the e-mail introducing the Online Tutorial for week 2.

Nicole:
I found the tutorial to be very detailed and very useful. I have aligned myself to Richard strategy

Gabriella,

Probably easier just e-mailing it to you, send me your e-mail and I will e-mail it to you.

All,
Am I correct in what I believe I am reading, weekly we get an email usually Monday morning that has sample questions attached to it with answers and sometimes rationale. Is this what you are talking about? I would love a practice exam, I have made one for myself from the last time I attempted this and did not give it the due it is worth.

If you would like me to send that exam to you send me your email and I will and Richard would you please send me the one you downloaded.

I have a little bit different approach. I review the ppt slides, do the readings (skim), review the online comments and then take the practice test. For areas that I am weak on the practice test I go back a do a more complete review.

It is very easy to fall behind, I like Thomas' approach to preparation, although I have not had much use for the printed information (400 hundred or so pagess to put in a binder), it looks like a repeat of the ppt's and the CD.

I'd like to ask insightful questions to feel good about receiving credit, but I'm just trying to get through the material and somehow retain it. This my third attempt at trying to post, can't say I've seen my earlier post?

I would also like to have the link to the practice exam other then the questions Pat sends out. I am also taking a one day course in Orlanda on Sept 11-it is put on by the Central Florida chapter of ACHE.
thanks

I would also like to get the practice test you all are talking about. I did not join the class until two weeks after i started and did not receive this practice test you all are talking about. If someone can send it to me at jasmine.todman@yahoo.com or jasmine.v.todman@usmc.mil
I would greatly appreciate it.
