With our new president and strong emphasis on the current and future state of our healthcare system do many believe that we will go to a single payer system? Will much of the items discussed in section 2 of the presentation become irrelevant in the vary near future?

The discussion regarding Joint Commission throughout many presentations appears to be outdated. For those of us involved in continuous readiness for Joint Commission I feel the speakers underestimate the importance of the accreditations process and the time and resources that are needed to keep a hospital open and functioning at a high level of quality in a community setting.

As Healthcare continues to evolve I find myself very thankful for the resources that my current organization has made available for performance improvement. I feel the literature has driven CEO's and boards to finally open the door to quality and help the organization to become more transparent to the community. Employees, patients and the community now expect quality patient care in a community hospital and these expectations have raised the bar for standards of care at a community hospital.
