I found it very intersting the steps presented in strategic planning, I really liked starting with the mission but this has never been the practice where I have been has anyone had this as the structure ?

I'm sorry, Vendla, but I don't have an answer for you. Even though my organization has its issues, it does follow the correct procedure for strategic planning. Have a great day!

Vendla - Can you elaborate for us? How does your organization perform strategic planning? What are they considering if not the mission, vision and values of the organization?

I would agree with Mr. Kramer's assessment and the possible use of a consultant familiar with conservative strategic planning processes. We always start our strategic planning with a review of the organizations mission, vission and values. This forms the bases for all discussions both by leadership and governance.

In response to Peter's question - I think they do follow the m/v/v but this is not a current that is spoken and feels like it is driving the process.
